Canadian Moto.

That’s a wrap on the 2024 Canadian season with 4 action-packed rounds of AMO Chilliwack Arenacross. Back-to-back weekends delivered great racing, featuring 3 American riders and top pros from across the country battling for the championship.

The final two rounds were nothing short of thrilling, both in the Amateur and Pro classes.

It was young Bentley Prenioslo who truly stole the show. The 50cc rider was determined to make his last race one to remember—and boy, did he ever. Despite a travel nightmare that saw his family’s flight from Calgary delayed, forcing them to miss practice on Thursday, Bentley was undeterred. When the gates dropped in his first moto, the little rider was on fire, nailing the rhythm section on his 50 like a seasoned pro and charging through the whoops faster than most riders on big bikes. Bentley set out to go out with a bang—and he did just that. In Friday’s first moto, he made a last-lap pass that may go down as one of the most impressive we’ve ever seen. Going double double double in the rhythm and doubling almost tripling through the whoops.

For his standout performance, Bentley earned the CJR Gold Standard Award from Danika and Charlie. The prize? A free bike setup for next year, plus a custom-crafted trophy from Charlie Johnston himself—made from real forks!

One of the standout moments of the weekend came when Yamaha Canada gifted AMO Owner Ryan Gauld a TTR110 to give away however he saw fit. After four rounds of careful observation, Ryan chose the Torpe family as the deserving winners.

The only catch? By the time the award ceremony wrapped up, the Torpe family had already headed back to their hotel. Ryan tracked them down, inviting them back for the surprise, and you can imagine their shock when they realized they'd be making room for one more bike on their trip back to Alberta!

Enough with the heartfelt moments—let’s talk Pro motos. There are plenty of sore riders at home this week, probably questioning if it was all worth it. But for the fans? It couldn’t have been better.

This week, out of curiosity, we dug into whether scoring points for each moto—versus an overall score for the night—would change the outcome at AMO AX. Not saying there’s a right way to do it, but always looking for ways to make racing more exciting.

Points comparison per moto vs. overall night.

Safe to say, all that math was a waste of time—the results ended up the same, just with a bigger gap.

We will post a top 10 pro run down of each riders results and story behind the racing in the coming week, but for know know that: Tyler Gibbs won. Here is round 3 Video:

MiniO’s wrapped up on Saturday, and while we couldn’t make it out this year, Canadian riders Hayden Dupuis and Mason Murdy are making waves in the U.S. Both training nearly full-time at Moto Sandbox, their results in Supercross and Motocross are a testament to the hard work paying off.

With 2025 on the horizon, it’ll be exciting to see what’s next for these two and all the young racers chasing the U.S. Dream.

That’s a wrap for this week! With the holidays fast approaching, we’ve got gift guides and more silly season news on the way. Plus, we’ll be gearing up to cheer on a few Canadians as Supercross season kicks off.
