round 9

We're just over a week into 2025, and the wait for A1 has felt endless with anticipation for SX to kick off. Feld pushed round one back a week this year and it felt extra long.

Moto in Canada is still moving at a crawl with little to report, but luckily, we’ve got a solid crew of Canadians racing SX, and the rest are keeping fans engaged through social media.

Arenacross is heating up and really building momentum with Vince Freise in the mix your promised bar banging and who doesn’t want that this time of year. (probably not the other guys on the gate). This past weekend we had Wyatt Hasil from Alberta head down to Loveland Colorado to race a Stark in the Pro-X class. The first night he had some bike issues and finished 6th, and the 2nd night bettering by 1 spot on 5th. He currently sits 8th in points after only racing 2 rounds of the 6 rounds there has been.

We chatted with Wyatt, heres what he said:
The weekend at the Arenacross in Loveland CO was an excellent time and was so much fun. It was a great opportunity to race my Stark Varg against some of the best riders and some of my childhood idols. Had a bit of a bike issue on the first day and just sent it a little too much on day two after a great start to the main event. Hopefully will get an opportunity to do it again. Thanks to Stark for the support with parts at the event and shout out to Arenacross USA for putting on a fantastic event and giving the Stark Vargs a chance to race.

The weeks after the holidays are typically quiet before Supercross kicks off. With California fires sparking concerns about A1, it's still far from Anaheim, but winds can shift quickly, and fire behavior is unpredictable. While it’s unlikely, it’s not impossible.

Unfortunately, no Canadian National schedule yet. However, Future West in BC will release theirs on January 22, which may provide a hint for the National schedule.

Chilliwack Arenacross practices are going strong, thanks to Moto Energy. It’s a great opportunity for BC riders to train during the colder months, even though the area doesn’t get too cold.

Ironhorse info

Ironhorse AX has announced that Ryan Lockhart and Tyler Gibbs will lead schools leading up to race weekends. Gibbs, the AMO champ with a distinctive AX style, will also race the series, guaranteed to bring excitement to Rimbey. This week is a short on, in preps of next weeks Supercross content!

Hotels are nearly sold out for both weekends, a strong sign for the event’s success. With high numbers expected and the race always running smoothly, it promises to be another exciting back-to-back weekend of racing, even with snow on the ground.

It's unclear which other pros will sign up, but we'll have a list as we get closer. With Blake chasing Supercross in California, it seems unlikely he’ll return north to defend his title—but it’s not out of the question. The kid loves to race, and after last year's earnings, he could probably afford some new toys if he repeats.

Thats all we got this week, in prep for SX lets keep this one short as next weeks might be a bit long.

Talk soon!
