In the final weekend of Supercross the tour hit Salt Lake city with the main focal point being one point seperation for the championship between Kenny and Hunter, and we all saw what happen there! Congratulations goes to Ken and the HEP Suzuki team. In Canadian supercross news Friday brought the PulpMX LCQ challenge where for the first time we had two Canadians take part. Preston Masciangelo and Cole Thompson got the invite which meant they were going to leave Salt Lake City with a few extra bucks in their pockets. Cole finished 5-6 for 4th overall. Preston Masciangelo went 14-13 for 14th overall.

Tyler Gibbs lined up on Saturday looking to qualify for the 450 class, but ultimately came up short of making the night show. He mentioned on his Instagram story that the whoops gave him trouble, but says we’ll see him back at another race soon, we asked if he would be at Round 1 in Calgary and he said “Possibly not 100 precent sure yet”…… so we will see him at round 1.

Cole was selected for the Rocky Mountain Privateer Payout, a program where one rider in the LCQ is chosen before the race and earns an extra $1,000 if they make the main event. Cole delivered by qualifying into the main, adding the bonus to an already strong weekend and bringing his total earnings to $7960 plus main event payout, he may have left SLC with a $10,000 payout race day.

We headed to Gopher Dunes for the 2026 GDR Media Day, where Derek Schuster and the team gave media members and supporters a chance to interact with the riders, enjoy lunch, and catch a watch party featuring laps on the race bikes.

The four-rider lineup already seems to have great chemistry, and everyone is looking strong on the track. As always, the bikes looked incredible, featuring a new Euro-inspired design that Honda Canada hinted could be a preview of what the 2027 models may look like.

Amateur and Local Racing

Wild Rose delivered a strong turnout for the Pro and WMX classes, with 18 pros lining up on Sunday for the main track program. The gate featured Canadian Champion Shawn Maffenbeier alongside U.S. WMX Pro Jordan Jarvis, while the Dusty Rocks MX team officially marked its first race weekend competing together as a full team. Noah Porter came out as the top Pro rider on the weekend.

Revelstoke this weekend will mark the first Alberta vs. British Columbia showdown of the season, and by the sounds of it, turnout is expected to be huge with plenty of Alberta riders making the trip west for the event. Chris Dodds, Liam and Luke’s dad, volunteers a ton of his time and has built an incredible racetrack, which is a big reason why the event continues to draw such strong support.

WMX

Jordan Jarvis spent the week in Calgary testing and shooting with the Dusty Rocks MX team, getting familiar with both the bike and the team, along with experiencing Canadian weather firsthand.

Jarvis will contest both the WMX USA Championship and the Canadian WMX series this season, creating a demanding schedule through the opening two rounds. She’ll race Friday and Saturday in the U.S. before jumping on overnight red-eye flights to Calgary and Pilot Mound in order to line up for the Canadian rounds on Sunday.
