BFD - Calgary

Big news in Calgary's moto scene: BFD has moved once again, outgrowing their previous location. Their new address is 4415 Manhattan Rd SE.

Though they've only been at the new spot for about a week, the space is already shaping up nicely. BFD’s boutique-style shop continues to shine with its clean, modern design, perfectly complementing the premium brands they carry.

Atlantic Moto becoming an association

Atlantic Motocross has been a homegrown region for decades, continuously growing and evolving. In 2025, they made it official by establishing an association enlisting the regions most dedicated people to be on the board of members. See PR below for more information.

GNCC: Hayden Dupuis

For Round 3 in Alabama, Hayden Dupuis finished 5th in his class and 9th overall out of 220 riders, with 15 DNFing. He’s currently tied for 2nd in points with 55, just 1 point behind the leader. Round 4 is at the end of the month in South Carolina, and Hayden will be racing Spring A Ding this weekend switching back to Moto.

KTM Canada Camp:

Kaven Benoit won’t be racing in 2025, but he remains under the KTM umbrella. His first role as a non-racer is developing the KTM Rider Camp at GPF in Georgia. On March 3, the project celebrated its first year, inviting pro and amateur riders to prep for the season with 2024 250 Champion.

Riders include: Dylan Rempel - KTM Canada Red Bull Racing 250 Pro Rider is training for the 2025 Canadian Nationals.

Hayden Dupuis - The Husqvarna Mini Rider, currently racing in the GNCC series, is set for Spring A Ding this weekend. Having already qualified through an AQ for Loretta Lynn's, he's now focused on his upcoming regionals to secure his spot for LL 2025.

Tegan Kortenbach - We asked Tegan about his plans for 2025:

Plan for this year is to keep stacking all the experience I can. Going to keep training with KTM as long as I possible can and then be ready for opportunities, races, anywhere anytime! Tougher at this stage for me because running intermediate/pro on National day would eliminate me from B class down south. Looking forward to long motos and good competition.”

Corentin Dietz - We asked Corentin his plans for 2025:

“My plan are to do all the triple crown series in Canada my objective is to be on the top 15 . I will do the last 2 race of the AMA outdoors. I just receive my licences and start permission . I will also do some couple of the challenge Quebec race and 1st round of the amo racing . I am now at GPF to train with Josh wood it’s my second week here but this week I will train with the guys that Kaven train so we will have a good group to perform”

Nathan Germain and Denik Paradis, are also participating who we’re excited to get to know this summer!

“Day in the Dirt - Down South”

Day in the Dirt by Red Bull is known as the most fun event of the year. It's all about old-school moto with unconventional racing—no pressure for Loretta’s or titles.

With many East Coast Canadians heading to Florida to escape the snow, it's the perfect weekend to sign up and have some fun!

Some Canadians racing were: Mitch Cooke, Talon Medaglia, Rider Siteman, Trevor Siteman, Hannah Cole, Tyler Kirby, Tanner Scott

Rider / Industry CATCH UPS:

Tanner Ward:

Tanner's 2025 season is full of change—he's joining the Priority MX GasGas team in Thor Gear and is now a new father. We've seen in the past that fatherhood often gives riders a fresh perSPECtive on life and racing. We caught up with Tanner to hear about his prep and plans for the season!

“Training is going well, we had a very heavy couple of months back home establishing a solid foundation so we could focus on the riding when we got down here.. riding has been going well, I’ve got a couple days in the bike and surprisingly feel better than I thought coming back from the injury and quite a bit of time off. Dad life is amazing! I would say it adds spice like you said but it for sure adds a new appreciation for things and a different outlook.. which may help the riding aha!”

Julien Benek:

Julien, now on the Triumph 450, is still in recovery and supercross mode but has a packed 2025 summer race schedule ahead. We asked him to give us a quick run down on whats going on in his world:

“Yeah I’m starting to feel better. Still dealing with a few past injuries that need fixing. I’m planning on racing Seattle, Denver and Colorado. Training for triple crown is gonna be happening mainly in bc this year”

WLTN Kawasaki:

Rumours have been swirling with the team so we wanted to reach out to team owners Brett and Melody to hear what is going on in the WLTN Kawasaki tent for 2025 heres what they had to say:

“We've been in contact with Dylan on and off for the past two seasons. At TransCan, he came over to race and let us know he wanted to come back. With his contract in England requiring a decision by December 29, 2024, we had to act fast - so we went for it.

Right now, his focus is on SX. He's training with the Grindstone team and doing off-bike work with the Kawasaki USA guys. For the 450 class, our goal is simple: find a way to the podium.

Competing against guys like Pettis and Wright won’t be easy, and the rider market is more competitive than ever. With SMX, WSX, and MXGP pulling in top talent, there are plenty of options for elite riders.

We've been in talks with many since July of last year. Technically, we’re in the same position MX101 was in last year, and we’re staying patient.

By the end of the month, we’ll lock in our direction and be ready to make an announcement.

Stay tuned!”

We followed this up with the question we all have which is “Is the rumour of win or lose support” a real rumour or is there a bit more to it?

“I mean, Canadian Kawasaki is obviously investing a lot of money into our race program, so they have certain expectations that they want us to meet this year. Pressure is a privilege, and honestly it is driving us to have lofty goals together.

Personally I’d rather a partner that’s engaged than disengaged.”

Quoting the great Billie Jean King saying “Pressure Is a Privilege” is a great attidude to go into 2025 with!

Canadian WMX:

Though no schedule has been announced, it's expected that the series will remain East and West. Rumors suggest two semi teams have been in talks with WMX riders, marking a step forward for Canadian WMX.

We have been told to expect more information this week about the schedule and WMX news.

Tyler Gibbs SX Prep

Gibbs posted a video on social this week of him riding at the Yamaha Supercross test track in California which is great to see as we know he is lining up for Seattle SX this year.

Thats it for this week, as Spring a Ding is currently happening we will post some results early next week.

Tracks are opening, get out there and ride!
