round 34

Heading to the East Coast always has its perks, most turn it into a mini vacation wrapped around race weekend. Grabbing fresh lobster and seafood is practically a tradition, with many making a stop in Shediac for a bite before heading into the final two rounds of the series.

Riverglade was definitely less dramatic than Sand Del Lee, but the weather still played a role. The morning program stayed dry, but as soon as the gate dropped for 450 Moto 1, the rain rolled in and stayed on and off for the rest of the day. Credit to the Riverglade crew: they clearly prepped for it, and the track held up as well as it could. Riders were still hitting the spectator jump and the double right up until the final lap. Some voiced concerns about the track conditions earlier in the day, but with rain looming, the prep was exactly what was needed.

Heading into Round 6, the big question was whether Dylan could bounce back. After a solid second-place finish in Moto 1, things looked promising, though he appeared visibly sore on the podium. Ultimately, the decision was made to sit out Deschambault this weekend. Jess Pettis is also battling through injuries, riding with a broken shoulder and damaged ribs. You wouldn’t know it from his performance. His grit showed not just on the track but after the motos, there’s no doubt he’s in serious pain, yet he’s doing whatever it takes to be on the line and on top of the box.

Phil Nicoletti got his first moto win of the season and Tanner Ward leaves the east coast with a 1 point lead in the 450 class!

Ryder McNabb was absent from the 250 class, with the team confirming he's out for the season. Meanwhile, Preston Kilroy claimed another win, putting him in prime position to clinch the championship a round early this weekend at Deschambault. Dylan Rempel sits 2nd.

On Thursday, before the national event, SurfinBerms hosted a ladies' ride night that was a huge success. With the national riders helping the younger girls on and off the track, it fostered a supportive atmosphere. The event built lasting connections, with the younger riders feeling comfortable approaching the pros on Sunday and some of the nationals girls even came out Saturday to cheer them on during their races! While growing the WMX scene remains a challenge, this event is a clear step in the right direction. The excitement and positive energy from everyone involved helped create an incredible atmosphere for all participants!

That’s a wrap for this week, short and sweet. We’re back at it at ECAN! For amateur updates all week, check out our IG.
