round 31
We didn’t have a race last weekend, so let’s take a moment to dig into some of the key storylines developing in the series before we head East, we’re lucky to have plenty.
Let’s start with Quinn Amyotte.
Quinn has built an almost flawless privateer program, some would argue it’s even better than being under a Semi tent in Canada. He runs the products he wants and maintains full control of his day-to-day, and for a rider like Quinn, that’s the perfect formula. While having a team manage logistics might sound ideal, Quinn is thriving in this setup. He currently sits 4th in points in his rookie 450 season, less of a surprise, more of a statement.
And this momentum isn’t slowing down. Historically, Quinn rides even better on the eastern tracks. If this trend holds, he’ll finish the season as the most sought-after rider heading into 2026.
But it’s not just his results that stand out, Quinn is also the most marketable Canadian rider right now. He’s consistently producing full-length weekly vlogs, building an engaged audience that holds real value for any brand looking to get in front of eyeballs.
Another big name making serious marketing noise is Phil Nicoletti. The American rider has built a strong personal brand in recent years, and people are paying attention. Phil’s no-nonsense, straight-shooting attitude resonates with fans and brands alike. But behind the tough-guy persona is someone deeply loyal and genuinely invested in the sport and those around him and fans see that.
We’ve seen it firsthand, Phil regularly takes time out of his race day to connect with fans, sign anything they hand him, and grow his following at every round.
Even better for Canadian moto, Phil is bringing U.S. attention to our series. His weekly call-ins to the PulpMX Show often include talk about the Canadian Nationals. Whether he’s calling out poor track conditions or stirring up a rivalry with Tanner Ward, he’s fueling interest south of the border, and that’s a win for everyone, and we think he knows that so we thank him for it.
The “Great Tent Depression of 2025” might be one of the most heartbreaking hits for up-and-coming teams in Canada.
Alberta is no stranger to wind, but this was next level. Two major gusts, one in Calgary and another in Cold Lake, ripped through the pits and took out the tents of both Priority MX and AVL Racing.
Both rigs are new to the scene in their own way: AVL is tackling their first full national series, and while Priority has been around a few years, this is their debut season with a new setup. Tough break for two teams trying to build something solid. It does sound like they will both have them replaced by St. Julie so be sure to give them some love if your in the pits!
The 250 class has delivered this season, with Preston Kilroy stepping up as the guy. But don’t count out Ryder McNabb, he’s steadily finding his race pace again.
It’s worth noting: heading into the season, Ryder hadn’t seen a gate drop in quite a while. In 2025, some programs prioritize practice over racing, and that seems to be his approach. Kilroy, on the other hand, had nearly a full offseason of gate drops under his belt. Two different strategies, but both riders are showing why they’re ones to watch.
Bikes, Berms, and Brews caught up with WMX riders from both the East and West series to see what they’ve been up to, some were mid-road trip from Loretta Lynn qualifiers, others already dialed in at East Coast tracks getting laps in.
As we dive into on the podcast, this might be the most competitive WMX field yet. The top 6–7 riders are flying, sending jumps, trading paint, and not backing down. It’s gritty, it’s fast, and it’s exactly the kind of racing that deserves the spotlight.
This week's SpecAround is a quick one with racing on pause, same goes for next week. But once we hit Quebec, it’s full throttle into a nonstop stretch of action and updates straight through fall. Stay tuned!
Here’s a look at this week’s content, plus a few recommended watches we think are worth your time!
We got a tour of Gopher Dunes from Derek himself!
Something we reccomend you watching is the SLR Honda Video series of KayKay racing the WMX USA series.
