Canadian Pro Motocross Update
Sand De Lee always seems to deliver some of the best racing of the year and seems to always mix things up and this year is no different. In the 250 class we came in with Ryder Malionski having the red plate but we are leaving with Dylan Rempel leaving with his first ever.

Moto 1 of the 250 class came down to the wire, with Ryder stealing the win by just 0.1 seconds, making the pass right at the face of the finish line. Although Rempel lead almost the whole moto, he had to take a second in moto 1.

Moto 2 looked to be Ryder Malinowski’s race to lose. Leading second place rider Dylan Rempel to the last lap when with just a few corners remaining, the MX101 Yamaha suddenly expired.
We still haven't heard exactly what caused the issue, but from what we saw, Ryder abandoned the bike before Kevin Tyler managed to get it running long enough to move it a couple feet. It stalled again moments later and refused to restart. Alan Brown then arrived, gave it another push, and the bike finally fired back to life, but it sounded far from healthy, almost as if the exhaust had fallen off, despite the pipe visually being intact. Alan got enough out of the bike to get it back to the semi.

The podium was packed with career-best finishes, making it one of the feel-good stories of the weekend. Among them was American Kyle Murdoch, who was welcomed under the Kawasaki SSR tent for the first time and made the most of the opportunity. Getting his first career podium going 6-2 for 3rd overall on the day!
Seeing the emotion from both Kyle and his dad after chasing this for so many years was one of the best moments of the weekend. We had Kyle on the podcast this week, and it quickly became one of our favorites. He shared what it's like to head back to work on Monday after racing at this level, along with the journey that brought him to this moment.

Josh Boaz from AVL ended up 2nd on the day which is a career best in the 250 class, he is showing some serious speed and proving him joining AVL has been a great addition.

The 450 class was a little more straightforward, with the overall results looking much as expected after Dylan's dominant 1-1 performance. The biggest news of the weekend, however, came off the track, as Dylan and Jade Wright announced they are expecting twins! We're beyond excited to see two little Wrights running around the track in the years to come. Congratulations you two!!
It is always great to see Fox and GDR drop 2027 kits early as teasers in Canada like this green kit here. Very fitting for the military race.

Overall, we also want to give a nod to Kevin Tyler and the Sand Del Lee team for putting on another outstanding event. In 2026, all but one round has been promoted by the track owners themselves, meaning the responsibility of running a National falls entirely on their shoulders.
That shift has paid off. Track owners have gone above and beyond, continually raising the bar and almost turning it into a friendly competition to see who can deliver the most complete, fan-friendly event on the schedule.
Kevin delivered. From the moment the gates opened on Friday, the event had an incredible atmosphere. Between the dunk tank, bouncy castles, and family-friendly activities, there was something for everyone. Inviting military personnel and social media influencers to be part of the weekend elevated the entire event, creating an experience that went far beyond the racing.

Amateur and Local Racing
We'll be honest, we've dropped the ball a bit on amateur coverage through the middle of the season. But we're excited for what's ahead. ECAN kicks off on Thursday, followed by Loretta Lynn's, and then TransCan to wrap up our amateur coverage for the year. We'll be there, we'll be covering it, and we'll make up for lost time.

Top two in the WMX top three is pretty set in stone with Jarvis, Astudillo and Kayer, but what is happeing behind them is all over the place.

It seems the full class hasnt had a “good” day all on the same day, so it is hard to say how is really the 4th fastest, according to the points it is AVL’s Brandy Mclarty. Who has had break out moments getting herself onto the podium and leading laps at times.

Right behind her is Kiana Kurtz, who earned her first podium this season and continues to build a strong case for a team ride in 2027.
Kurtz is about to get real busy, racing ECAN this week, National Sunday then to Lorrettas and straight back to Canada for Walton.
