WCAN 2025 Officially Announced With a New Date and Location
WCAN 2025 is officially on the calendar, and this year brings some notable changes.
While the 2024 WCAN was held ahead of Round 2 of the Triple Crown Nationals in Lethbridge. WCAN 2025 won’t lead into a national round and it’s set for later in the summer also taking place at Wildrose MX Park.
We spoke with the ACM President Troy Hasil about the shift, who explained that the new date was chosen to better align with the summer break and give students the opportunity to participate while school is out.
We caught up with Troy for a quick chat, planning is still in the early stages, but he still gave us some insight into what’s ahead.
How did this come about!?
An opportunity came up for our ACM team to partner with the Wild Rose Motocross Association to support Western Canadian Motocross and host the event. Everyone wanted to ensure this event took place and what better place to host the race given the current circumstances at one of Alberta’s most iconic tracks.
Any big plans you'd like to share!?
We are back to having the WCAN in the summer when school is out and families can take some vacation and enjoy some moto while at the same time the Calgary Stampede is on for those out of towners looking to have some fun in the City. There will be a lot of planning and details to work out and we will be sharing information on our Alberta Championship Motocross Podcast and our social media. Anyone looking to help volunteer the event or looking for sponsorship opportunities to highlight your business please reach out. Ideas are always welcome.
All on the main track!? Different track each day!?
Being an Amateur National event we will most likely be racing on the national track. More details to work out with WRMA so stay tuned for the information as we continue to prepare for the event.
Thanks Troy for taking the time, and we are looking forward to the event!
We’ll keep you updated with any changes and exciting news as we head toward the event in July.
