Motorcycle Film Fest Returns to Calgary for Fifth Year

For the fifth year, the Motorcycle Film Fest returned to Calgary, Alberta, bringing together stories from across the two-wheeled world. Hosted by Calgary-based custom motorcycle shop Ill Fated Kustoms, the festival delivered an evening of films celebrating the people, passion and adventures that make motorcycle culture so special.

We attended with one film in particular on our radar: a feature following the Ferguson Sisters and their journey in racing, supported by 235 Racing. Known for supporting motocross across the country, 235 Racing has contributed to programs and organizations including AMO Racing, SpecMoto and Brandy McLarty’s race program.

The Ferguson Sisters’ story was exactly what we hoped to see, and we couldn’t recommend it more. If the festival is coming to a city near you, we encourage you to grab a ticket and make an evening of it.

Upcoming festival dates

What we didn’t expect was just how much we would enjoy the rest of the lineup. That one is on us!

We spent more than four hours in the theatre, watching film after film, and by the end, we weren’t ready for the night to be over. With films ranging from just three minutes to a feature-length production of approximately 90 minutes, the lineup offered an incredible variety of stories, all connected by a shared passion for two wheels.

It was a reminder that there is so much more to the sport than what happens on race day. Behind every rider, machine and discipline are stories worth telling, and the Motorcycle Film Fest gave those stories the screen time they deserve.

If you have the opportunity to attend a screening in one of the festival’s upcoming cities, do yourself a favour and get a ticket. Whether you’re a motocross fan, a motorcycle enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates a great story, there is something here for you.

We arrived to watch one film and left appreciating an entire lineup. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for next year’s festival.
